【摘要】:Thisclassificationisintendedtoencourageuniformityinreportingproperties;toprovideacommonlanguageforcommunicationsbetweensuppliersandconsumers;toguideengineersanddesignersinthetestmethodscommonlyusedforcommerciallyavailablematerials;andtobeversatileenoughtocovernewmaterialsandtestmethodsastheyareintroduced.Itisbasedontheprinciplethatnonmetallicgasketmaterialsshouldbedescribed,insofarasispossible,intermsofspecificphysicalandmechanicalcharacteristics,andthataninfinitenumberofsuchdescriptionscanbeformulatedbyuseofoneormorestandardstatementsbasedonstandardtests.Therefore,usersofgasketmaterialscan,byselectingdifferentcombinationsofstatements,specifydifferentcombinationsofpropertiesdesiredinvariousparts.Suppliers,likewise,canreportpropertiesavailableintheirrespectiveproducts.1.1Thisclassificationsystemprovidesameansforspecifyingordescribingpertinentpropertiesofcommercialnonmetallicgasketmaterials.Materialscomposedofasbestos,cork,cellulose,andotherorganicorinorganicmaterialsincombinationwithvariousbindersorimpregnantsareincluded.Materialsnormallyclassifiedasrubbercompoundsarenotincluded,sincetheyarecoveredinClassificationD2000.Gasketcoatingsarenotcovered,sincedetailsthereofareintendedtobegivenonengineeringdrawingsorinseparatespecifications.Whilethefacingmaterialsforlaminatecompositegasketmaterials(LCGM)areincludedinClassificationSystemF104,materialsnormallyclassifiedasLCGMarenotcoveredsincetheyareincludedinClassificationF868.1.2Sinceallofthepropertiesthatcontributetogasketperformancearenotincluded,useoftheclassificationsystemasabasisforselectingmaterialsislimited.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
