【摘要】:Pitchdoesnotgothroughasolid-liquidphasechangewhenheatedandthereforedoesnothaveatruemeltingpoint.Asthetemperatureisraised,pitchsoftensandbecomeslessviscous.Thesofteningpointisarbitrarilydefinedandmustbedeterminedbyacloselycontrolledmethodthatmustbecarefullyfollowediftestresultsaretobereproducible.Thistestmethodisusefulindeterminingtheconsistencyofpitchasoneelementinestablishingtheuniformityofshipmentsandsourcesofsupply.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthesofteningpointabove80x00B0;C[176x00B0;F]ofpitch.TestMethodD3104givescomparableresults.1.2ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemshallbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnon-conformancewiththestandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
