【摘要】:Tensiontestsprovideinformationonthestrengthandductilityofmaterialsunderuniaxialtensilestresses.Thisinformationmaybeusefulincomparisonsofmaterials,alloydevelopment,qualitycontrol,anddesignundercertaincircumstances.Theresultsoftensiontestsofspecimensmachinedtostandardizeddimensionsfromselectedportionsofapartormaterialmaynottotallyrepresentthestrengthandductilitypropertiesoftheentireendproductoritsin-servicebehaviorindifferentenvironments.Thesetestmethodsareconsideredsatisfactoryforacceptancetestingofcommercialshipmentsandhavebeenusedextensivelyinthetradeforthispurpose.1.1Thesetestmethodscoverthetensiontestingofwroughtandcastaluminum-andmagnesium-alloyproducts,exceptingaluminumfoil,andarederivedfromTestMethodsE8M,whichcoverthetensiontestingofallmetallicmaterials.Note18212;ThesemetrictestmethodsaretheequivalentsofthoseinTestMethodsB557,andarecompatibleintechnicalcontentexceptfortherequirementoflongergagelengthsforroundspecimens.Note28212;Exceptionstotheprovisionsofthesetestmethodsmayneedtobemadeinindividualspecificationsortestmethodsforaparticularmaterial.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
