【摘要】:Thecolorofatalloilfattyacidisreadilyaffectedbyheatandoxidization.Variationsindegreeofheat,timeofheat,andexposuretoatmosphereduringheatinghaveamarkedeffectonthecolorobtained;therefore,conformitytotheequipmentandprocedureoutlinedinthistestmethodisessentialtoaccuracyandprecision.1.1ThistestmethodcoversthemeasurementoftheGardnercoloroftalloilfattyacidsafterheatinginanatmosphereofnitrogenat205x00B0;Cforoneortwohours,dependingonwhetheritsiodinevalueisoverorunder15,respectively.Thespecimenmaybeheatedusingeitheranaluminumheatingblockoranoilbath.Thismethodisapplicabletoalltalloilfattyacids.Applicabilityofthismethodtoothertypesoffattyacidshasnotbeendetermined.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
