【摘要】:Thisstandardspecifiestheformatoflinkable,relocatable,andabsoluteobjectmodulesforbinarycomputersofarbitrarywordsizeandarchitecture.Twolevelsofcompliancearespecified,minimumandfull.Theminimumcompliancelevelaffordssufficientflexibilitytolinkseparatelycompiledmodules,torelocateaddressesinsimpleways,andtoloadtheresultingabsoluteobjectmoduleswithaminimalloader.Thefullcompliancelevelaffordsallofthefunctionalityoftheminimumlevelandaddstoitarbitraryaddressexpressionhandling,typecheckingcapability,librariancontrolcommands,andotherusefulfunctionsforfullgenerality.AconformingimplementationmayextendthecommandorfunctionsetofMUFOMforgreaterefficiencyindealingwithmachine-specificrequirements,butobjectmodulescontainingsuchextensionsshallnotbesaidtobeconformingtothisstandard.Suchextensionsarenotspecifiedinthisstandard.Thisstandardalsodoesnotspecify:1)ThesourcelanguagefeaturestobesupportedbywayofMUFOMmodules.2)Thestructureofrelocatablecodelibraries.3)Theformatoftheoptionalbinaryequivalent.4)Algorithmsforlinking,relocatingandloading.5)Thearchitectureofthehostmachine.6)Thearchitectureofthetargetmachine,includingwordsize,sizeofmemory,memoryorganizationorinstructionformat.Thisstandardisderivedfromdocumentsinthepublicdomainandcontainsnopatentedorproprietarymaterial.
